Hi folks,
I’ve been remodeling my basement and want to integrate a hidden TV setup in one of the cabinets below the bar area. The idea is to keep the space clean and minimal when the TV isn’t in use but still have it easily pop up with a remote. I’ve seen a few options online, but I’m trying to figure out what kind of motorized TV lift actually holds up well over time, especially with daily use. Anyone here built something similar and can share what worked or didn’t?

Yeah, I’ve been down that road. A couple of months ago, my husband and I turned our guest room into a dual-use media and office space. We wanted the TV to disappear completely when we’re not watching movies, and eventually went with one of the units from Progressive Automations — specifically from their TV lift collection. We mounted a 50" screen on the TY-05 lift inside an IKEA Besta cabinet (had to tweak the back panel a bit), and it’s been flawless so far. It’s quiet, moves smooth, and even includes a remote with memory settings. The hardest part was honestly just aligning everything so it lifts cleanly without rubbing the sides. They also have options with greater stroke lengths if you're placing it in a taller piece of furniture. Highly recommend checking their site out — specs and install videos helped a ton when we were planning motorized tv lift https://www.progressiveautomations.ca/collections/tv-lifts.

I’d definitely consider something like that if I ever redo my living room setup.
