What is the Place Where Airplanes Are Parked

The place where airplanes are parked is typically called the apron or airport ramp. This is the area of an airport where aircraft are loaded, unloaded, refueled, boarded, and maintained while on the ground. It's a secure and highly organized space that allows ground crews to perform all the necessary pre-flight and post-flight operations. The apron is usually located next to the terminal buildings, allowing easy access for passengers and airport services. For longer-term storage or protection from weather conditions, airplanes may be moved into a hangar—a large enclosed structure designed to house aircraft. Hangars are commonly used for maintenance, repair, and storage, especially for private jets, military aircraft, or when an airplane is out of service. In some airports, planes are also parked at remote stands, which are apron areas farther away from the terminal where passengers are transported via shuttle buses.
